Middle Tennessee Girls Christmas Party

Well, for all of you who made it out to our first "girls" TLC Christmas party, you know that it was very, very MERRY indeed! Thanks to each of you for giving up your Thursday night to come and share some of the Christmas spirit with us... when everyone left, Mom and I agreed it really was one of the highlights of the year for us. You see, it is so rare that we get together as a group and are able to ENJOY each other, without discussing the stresses of work! This night, everyone just showed up in their scrubs...it was so casual, so laid back... and we just had FUN together! By the end of the night, everyone was tired of me flashing pics, but looky here--- now we have these captured moments to remember!!!

Robin Carter was our "unofficial" TLC Medical employee, but since she is in the Franklin office almost daily, and helps us so much with our Medela stuff, we invited her to join our fun!

Prop up those swollen feet there Jenny! We can't wait for little "peanut"!!!!! Next time we all get together it will be for your shower!!!

I will be honest with everyone, life has been tough lately. With everything that has conspired this past week and a half, I have questioned many things. I do know that my father is a very good man and will continue to guide me throughout the rest of my life. You have probably never met my father, but I am an exact clone of him. He is a great father and a best friend that I could never replace.

I want to thank every single person that works for TLC. You all have shown me a lot throughout this trying time. I couldn't ask for better people to work with and very thankful to have ya'll. Thank you for the flowers, giftcards and your presence. Life is much easier working with people like ya'll.

I would like to take a moment and thank everyone for the lovely flowers that we received in honor of Gary's Father. The last 6 weeks have been so difficult knowing that Gary's Dad was ending his journey here on earth, but I believe he now is in a better place, free from pain and illness. We just want you to know how much we appreciate your thought and prayers.

I also want to thank Alison, all the CSR's, Bill Drake, the RT's and everyone that helped out during my absence.

I write this blog post with a heavy heart for two of our TLC team. Kyle Thompson lost his 44 year old father over the weekend unexpectedly. I spoke with Kyle briefly on Sunday and told him that he would be in all of our thoughts and prayers. Kyle's father will be at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home here in Franklin. His funeral will take place on Wednesday. Also, Deb Wallace lost her father-in-law over the weekend. Deb and Gary are traveling to Oklahoma to attend the funeral services this week. I also spoke with Deb on Sunday and told her we would be praying for her and Gary as well.

Please keep Kyle, and Deb in your thoughts and prayers. These upcoming days will be challenging to say the least.

Hey guys!
Joey asked me to post the following letter which he received yesterday from a new TLC Medical BiPAP patient. In a business where only the "negatives" usually make it to his hear (if we happen to mess things up -which we all know NEVER happens!!... )- it is just refreshing that someone stopped and sang our praises! We are a great TEAM, and need to remember that we bless others when we take time and help them with their personal troubles. Go Emilee and Casey!!!! And thanks to everyone else, too- we know you are making a big difference in these people's lives!

Please allow me to share my last three days with you.
My bipap machine stopped working on a trip to Baltimore on Monday night. It was the first time in 4 years that I have not had my mask on and I was afraid of going to sleep and not waking up.
I did my sleep study four years ago in Louisville Ky and have not needed anything since moving to Spring Hill in Aug of '06. I did a Google search for Medical supplies and TLC came up. I did not know what I was getting into. I did not know that you needed a prescription from my MD to get supplies. Just a little more back ground to my story. With my in-laws, we owned a Christian Book Store in Louisville. I understand the challenges of the "family business".

I contacted your Franklin office and spoke to Emilee Puckett. After giving her my info with address, she informed me that the Columbia office covered Spring Hill. I assumed I would need to call that office and go through all this again. WOW WAS I WRONG. Emilee faxed/emailed all the info to Casey Cantrell and said Casey would call me soon. AND SHE DID.

I have never, in my 25 years of professional life had the level of service I received from your staff. I was a challenge, and your staff was amazing.
I also spoke with another employee at Columbia and I'm sorry I can't recall her name. All three went way beyond to put me at ease.
I have always said that my employees are a reflection of me.
I have never met you but I believe you and your family are great people. Your father and you have done a marvelous job with TLC.
I have been working for myself for the last 16 years, but I would work for your family in a heart beat.

Hey guys!

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and I received a wonderful email today from a friend of our family, Michael Ray, who reminded me of how much I have to be thankful for this season. It got me to thinking how wonderful it would be if we could all just take a second and think of just ONE thing we are THANKFUL for today.... and share it on our blog. I think so often we get so busy in the hustle and bustle of THANKSGIVING DAY that we forget to actually STOP and BE thankful...and GIVE thanks, to the GIVER of all that we have. We just get used to being blessed that we don't realize there are others out there who are suffering, hungry, sick, unable to enjoy sight and sounds and life! We are tremendously blessed by God! Let us NOT forget to give thanks today, tomorrow...and each day!

Hello All!

We are FAST approaching this holiday season, and with that in mind, we have been praying about and discussing date possibilities for the TLC Christmas party this year. In doing this, we have decided, instead, to do something different. In a time when our economy is suffering and people are hurting, we have decided to take the money we would normally spend and give it away.

1.) We will be giving some of it to the Nashville Rescue Mission to feed the homeless during this holiday season. Because we also recognize that giving money is only ½ of what is needed, I have requested date options for us to go serve the homeless ourselves. I will be following up with these date options the first of next week so you can make plans to participate with us in this opportunity.
2.) I have requested that each tech give us 2 names of patients that they come in contact with that could us a helping hand. We will be getting food baskets together for these people and going with the techs to present these baskets to these needy patients. We will try to coordinate these delivery times so that others in the TLC family can participate in the delivery. I will forward more info within the next week on these opportunities as well.

Thanks to each and every one of you for all you do here at TLC. I am personally very thankful for the opportunity I have to work with some of the greatest people anywhere. Please be praying for us as we finalize the details of the above mentioned items. I will be in contact soon with more detail. Thanks again for everything.

Hi my name is Jenny and I'm officially old!!!! (Well not really but it sure sounds weird to say that I'm 30.) So what did I do to celebrate this monumental occasion in my life you might ask? Well, my hubby planned a surprise weekend get-away in Chattanooga for us. (If you don't know my hubby, which most of you don't, you can not fully appreciate how monumental that was in and of itself. He's a) not very romantic at all and b) definitely not a planner.) I was so stinkin' excited and proud of him when he finally told me on Friday I could barely contain myself. So here is goes..the run down of our weekend:

First stop...the most romantic lunch ever.

The we were off to Rock City. Neither of us had been there since we were kiddos and man was it beautiful this time of year. (Which he knew I would love...aka back to the whole planning thing.)

Then we went down into the Earth to see the famed Ruby Falls. He had never been here so it was neat to explore it with him for the first time. He, of course, wanted to crawl in the all the crevices that were off limits. Thank goodness they don't supply with you those little lights you can put on like a hat or I might of lost him in there.

We checked in to our room at the Chattanoogan, which was great and then headed off to dinner for some Blue Orleans Creole. YUMMY!!!!

Being the good luvin' wife that I am, after dinner we found a local hang out and watched the misery that was known as the UT game. (Thankfully he got fed up with it and we went back to the hotel.)

Sunday morning we woke up to breakfast and massages.....what more could a girl ask for. Then it was off to the Aquarium. We hadn't been there since they had added on and it was a great time.

As far as we were concerned, it was a birthday done right and it was over. But then on Monday, the party continued. Thanks everyone in the office I was, again, surprised by a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday right before lunch and this delicious cake...thanks for thinking of my guys. YOU'RE THE BEST!!!

I will have to admit that this was one of my favorite birthday's yet. If it is any indication of what lies ahead in my 30s, then bring them on!!!!!

Howdy everyone!

Thank you to everyone who signed up for Race for the Cure,

participated (woo!) in the Race, and to all of those who donated money towards such a great cause! We raised right at $1,000! Congrats!!

For our first year as a team, I think we were very successful. :) yay, team.

For those of you who were able to make it to the Race: Thank you for getting up at the crack of dawn to show your support for finding a cure for breast cancer. "YOU ARE THE CURE"

What a Relief!!

Everyone it's Kyle again. Whoever commented that it was mine is wrong.(Richard, Nathan, Joey, Drason or whomever) Congrats Richard and Dana. I don't know what you're going to do with two kids now Dana. FYI, Kyle is a very good name for a boy. Kylie is great for a girl. Anyways, I haven't much to blog about. Atleast I do post on time, everytime if anyone was wondering.(management or whom is head of raises) Things have been going good with everything in my life. I'm undefeated in all fantasy football leagues, playstation is still working and my girlfriend and I have just reached 6 months. I think working here at TLC has really helped me with commitments. I have never had a steady job or relationship until i came to TLC. Maybe it's maturity or maybe it's because there are always things changing here. That's a good thing though. Most people and companies are scared to change things and days go by, same ol same ol. Kinda like UT offense.

Well i suppose that's all I got. I know it's boring but hey I did post and I probably am now in trouble for cracking on UT.

Well...the cat is officially out of the bag....IT IS US!!!! It was so fun today to hear all of the buzz around each office of "WHO IS IT??"... and I guess our baby will be named "KIM", boy or girl, since she was on it first! :) (smiley face was actually Rich's doing last night...he did the post!) We're just so relieved it wasn't Jeff Walker who guessed... ha! Anyways, we are about 9 weeks along, with a due date of May 14... Now we just can't believe we have to wait NINE MONTHS to see our baby. We feel so blessed, so THANKFUL TO GOD, and so excited! Thanks for being so fun and sharing in our joy today--- it made sharing our "secret" so memorable!

It's me again (Hayley). So I just got the news that it was only the timing belt that is broken on my car. I am still not sure what that is, but it sounds better than "the transmission went out" like we originally thought. Dad says it's only going to be about $250 to fix, which we still don't have, but it will be much easier to come up with than the couple thousand we expected it to be. Thank you all who were praying for us, and thanks for all the comments. You guys are awesome!! I love you guys. *tear*

What next?

So, it is my day to do a blog again (this is Hayley, by the way), and it's not been a good day, so I hope you don't mind if I ramble for a minute.....or two.

This year God has really been teaching me about trust and faith. When I was young I used to always hear people talking about "casting your cares upon Jesus" and "giving it to God". I never really understood how to do that until this year.

In January my dad lost his job for the 3rd time in a year. It was devasting, not only financially, but emotionally, for him and my mom. Now, I knew that God would take care of them, I knew that they would make it through, but I just couldn't see any purpose in it. I asked God "Why? Why my dad? Why a man with a work ethic like I have never seen before? Why a man that would do anything for anyone?" The months past and still no job and no prospects. His spirits were at an all time low, my mom was a wreck, and I was starting to get really worried. It just didn't make any sense. During this time he was doing taxes to make ends meet. You see, my grandparents own a tax business that is run out of their house. So, he was getting to spend a lot of time with his parents and his family. Then, in April, we found out that my grandfather was sick and they said that what he had would kill him. It wasn't a matter of if, but when. During this time, my dad was able to spend time with my grandparents. He was able to take care of my grandfather, take him to doctor's appointments and his treatments. He was able to help finish projects around their house that my grandfather had started but couldn't finish. He was able to establish a real relationship with his father, that he had not had in years. It was a blessing in the midst of all this turmoil! My grandfather passed away in June. After 5 months of job searching, my dad finally found a job, and he started only 3 days before my grandfather passed away. 5 months of "Why's?" were answered in one moment. If it wasn't for my dad losing his job, and not being able to find another, he would have missed it all. He would have been able to do very little for my grandfather and spend very little time with him in those last months. He wouldn't have taken that back for anything, even if it meant never having lost his job. The most amazing part is that during this time, their money just strecthed, seemed to go on and on. They never really struggled financially, even though their income had been cut in half. That's impossible.......accept for the One who makes all things possible. Wow! Isn't that amazing?

All that to say God is teaching me that He is in control of everything. We may not see the reasons, or where our roads are leading, but He DOES. He knows it all. He never promised us that it would be easy, in fact sometimes it may be harder. His promise is that He will always be there, not only walking with us as we go, but waiting at the end of our roads too. How awesome is that? How much less stressful is life to go through knowing that? It almost makes worrying seem so silly.

So, this brings me to today. On the way home from work today, my car broke down.....in the middle of the road. Now my car is about 10 years old, and it's been through a lot. If you have seen it, you know that one side is completely smashed in. It also has about 150,000 miles on it. So, I just have this nagging feeling that whatever is wrong is not going to be fixable or is going to cost more than the car is worth to fix. Add to that, Jason and I have no money at this moment. Literally, $25 in the bank. What the heck are we going to do? I don't know.....but God does. I am so thankful for this year, I am so thankful for these things that keep happening, because it reminds me that God is so in control. I have no control, nor do I want it. It's like He keeps taking the control away from me (I might prefer He do this in other ways ;)), but I am certainly not going to fight it.

So, If there is something you are going through that seems too big for you to handle, or even if it's small enough that you think you can handle it on your own, DON'T. Give it to God, there is nothing too big or too small for Him to handle. If you are like I used to be, and you are not sure how to "Give it to God" or "Cast all your cares", let me know, I will be glad to walk you through it :)

Please be praying for us as we figure out (i.e. God figures out) what the heck we are going to do about our car. Oh, and if you happen to have an extra car or an extra $10,000 lying around, we would be happy to take it off your hands ;)

Hi everyone

This is my first time blogging and you have to forgive me if I break the rules..lol, I was told there were rules....I forgot to post something back in July and thanks to the reminder in my phone and Emily's email(thanks Em...) I remembered to post something today.

OK here we go...My name is Pam and I am the RT for Chattanooga and all the East TN locations. As I begin to type I realize that I have been with the TLC family for two years... wow I can not believe that it's been that long. I have had the best two years of my working experience here at TLC and I will not trade it for anything.

I am not married, have no kids and no pets(lol....boring I know). In the picture I was trying to look cute and getting ready to go out with my two best friends, and I also posted it for the benefit of everyone I used to see almost everyday in Franklin and Nashville in case you all have forgotten how I look . I travel and hang out with my friends a lot when I am not at work and I just try to enjoy life and thank God for it everyday. I hope the next time I post I will have a lot more interesting things to write about. I will have pictures of the Atlanta half marathon I will be participating in.It's going to be on Thanksgiving and it's going to be 13miles. This is my first half Marathon and please pray for me so I can finish it with no injuries. Gosh!!.. when I work out I ask myself what I signed up for because it hurts, but it's for a good cause and I have always wanted to run a marathon and hopefully next year I will be able to run the full marathon.

I don't have much more to write but I will leave you with this little saying that I truly live my life on....."ALWAYS TELL THE PEOPLE YOU LOVE THAT YOU LOVE THEM"

Good Morning, it's me again, Heather. I thought I would add a little more to my background, I met my husband at the local watering hole in Hendersonville, N.C. through his sister who was anything but happy about Shane introducing himself, but I didn't get the typical pick up line with him trying to hit on me instead he spent the first hour or so trying to set me up with his brother and then when that didn't happen he asked me out and I told him yes but he would have to get my phone # from his sister who I also worked with. I was smart enough (I think) to realize that he was not going to remember my number if I just told it to him and then like a week later he asked me out, 2 weeks later he told me he loved me and I hung up on him twice and a year after that we were married. Three years later our beautiful child was born. Katie-bug is just over 9 months and into everything. The day before she turned 8 months she started crawling and got her 2nd tooth. She has her bottom 2 front teeth and it's so cute when she smiles. Like I said she is crawling and into everything and I can't wait to see what's next with her. The days are over of just watching her roll around on the floor or laying on the couch, now it's what is she getting into or what is laying around that she could do some damage with. We have had a few bumps and falls but I figure there are many more to come if she is going to be anything like me, I tend to be a little clumsy and accident prone and I hope she isn't going to follow in my footsteps. We took her to the Wilson County Fair and she loved it, she didn't want to miss a thing, her favorite thing was the chickens and ducks and of course daddy had to put her on the tractor. We all had a blast and we are next looking forward to her first zoo trip and her first halloween, she's going to be so cute in a little costum.

I want to share with you all a few of my favorite things...
This is a picture at my roommate from college/best friend's wedding. It was two weeks ago in Richmond, Virginia. Everyone in the office knew how excited I was for it--so I figured I should post a picture of it for everyone to see :D I love weddings.

College football is here!! There is nothing like spending your Saturday afternoon with 107,000 of your closet friends. Even though we had a rough start...I like being the underdog!! :) There is nothing...and I mean NOTHING like being in Neyland Stadium. It truly is an experience that I believe everyone should do once in their lifetime :)

I traveled to Greece about two years ago on an alternative Spring Break.
It was an eye opening experience and I can't wait to go back sometime. Here is a picture of my favorite mountain. We had just gotten done working at an Orthodox monastery for the day and I saw this mountain off in the distance and I fell in love with it. Something about it immediately brings peace to my heart:) Just looking at this picture can take me back to Greece and the wonderful memories I have from the trip.

Hello everyone. It's my first post here on the TLC blog. Let me first apologize for the rookie billing/ insurance verification girls (Jenny & Teresa...not naming any names) who said I had to post by their specified deadline. When I didn't, they took the opportunity to blog for me... which ended up being not so favorable for me. Anyway, so please let me start over from scratch here.....

Hello. My name is Drason A. Beasley. I believe I have worked with about everyone in the company at some point. During my days as tech, salesman, Medisend, MED task force, and now the only male in the billing department. Oh how i love that! Around there I'm known as Bullwinkle. Now, let me introduce you to my sweet daughter in the photo above. Her name is Olivia Drae Beasley. She is the new love of my life. She is 6 months old now and her personality is really developing. It is so much fun to watch her experience new things. Even below in this picture she is experiencing a flower for the first time. The first love of my life is Sonya Gay Stokes-Beasley. During the next blog, I will give you the full story of how we became BFF (best friends forever... dorky, I know.)

Recently, we took Livi camping for the first time at Montgomery Bell Park. Here she is enjoying the trees on a hike. Our subdivision, in Spring Hill, is fairly new with mostly very small trees. So, Livi thought the park was wonderful.

This is one of my favorite things to do.... having lunch with my daughter when I can. I don't know but I think she definitely looks like her dad in this photo.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Livi and Sonya. In this picture Livi is about 2 1/2 months old and on the beach. She came back with a tan and she loved the beach! This is a photo that I keep in my wallet and in my truck to keep me focused on being grateful for the opportunity God has given me as a father and as a husband.

This last photo is my wonderful mother-in-law, Peggy Stokes (AKA Mad Dog/ Queen of Stokes Hill) that allows us to use their camper anytime. How sweet they are to us.

A National Holiday

Morning folks, Jenny here, I hope everyone enjoyed their day off yesterday. I know I sure did. Some of you know yesterday as the National Holiday known as Labor Day. For me and my family, it's a much more important holiday....opening day of dove season. Yup, that's right all you animal rights activist, I am a hunter and have been since I can remember. Growing up, my sister and I would be the first ones awake opening morning, even though you can't hunt til after lunch. Daddy would pack up everything: guns, ammo, sunscreen, bug spray, Dr Pepper, water, dog, etc. (Traveling with two girls required a bit more than he was used to.) By 10:00 we were itching to get out the door and on to the field. Memories of those hunts will always be some of our family favorites.

Nowadays, my hunting partner has changed but the love of the sport has not. Opening day now consists of my dear hubby waking me up bouncing off the walls like a kid at Christmas. You see, this is the one time of year that we equally share a passion for the same sport. We've been dove hunting together longer long before we ever started dating. Yesterday, bright and early, we were off to Cracker Barrell with our friends the Wilsons and then off to Kentucky for a huge hunt up there. (We just happen to run in to Nate, Tiff and the boys at the mighty Cracker Barrell, getting ready to send Nate off on a hunt of his own.)

Here's a picture of our harvest from yesterday. Between the four of us, we all managed to kill our limits (and then some, but don't tell the game warden). More importantly, Karly and I managed to impress all the old men on the field who still seem to think that hunting is just for boys.

My name is Drason Beasley and I "work" in the Billing Department over here at the Corporate Office! I don't do much around here so you probably haven't heard of me. I reside in Monty's old office (it makes me feel important) and my favorite thing to do is to talk very loudly... on speaker phone... with my door wiiiiide open. Everyone here loves me for it. You're welcome, guys. You can usually find me roaming around the office or goofing off with my buddy, Richard.

Hey y’all! I’m Emilee Puckett and I’m a CSR at the Franklin office. I was born and raised in Amory, Mississippi. I have been truly blessed to have been raised in a Christian home by my mom Julia (a.k.a Jewels). I have two sisters, Ashlee (26) and Laura (21), and I fall right in the middle! People have told me all of my life that I have “middle child syndrome” and I think people may have there own preconceived ideas above what the exactly means. Well, if the words 'out-going' or 'craves to be the center of attention' come to mind then I’m afraid to say—you are correct my friends--That is me! I don’t always intentionally mean for it to be like that, but that’s just the way the ball bounces for me many times. I absolutely love to laugh, be silly and have make the most out of my life. For those of you who may not know me personally, you will quickly learn that I am very quick witted, sarcastice southern gal who loves to laugh and have a great time. I love my life—the Lord has truly blessed me with a wonderful family and a wonderful life and I strive to live it to the fullest for His glory each day. It’s so wonderful to know that even though I fail God daily while trying to please Him, He still loves me and forgives me of my sins daily!

Well, I first started working at TLC when I moved to Nashville to go to college. It’s funny to look back and see how much has changed since then. I helped Mary in the store front some and I also helped do some things for Deb Wallace (she was the one and only CSR/Insurance Coordinator/everything else!). I graduated from Free Will Baptist Bible College in 2006 with my B.S. in Exercise Science and a Minor in Biblical Studies. After I graduated, I was hired on full time at TLC. In October of 2006 I was offered a job at the college I graduated to the Enrollment Counselor and Campus Events. It was very rewarding and such a great experience for me to have that job and deal with high school students and help them with their college decisions as they were seeking the Lord’s will for what He wanted them to do. Well, long story short, I ran into Dana Andrews one day and she started talking to me about coming back and working for the company and here I am again!

In my spare time I enjoy playing sports (tennis and volleyball especially), scrapbooking and making cards for people, cutting coloring and styling people’s hair, singing, playing the piano, babysitting, traveling shopping and a new found hobby I have learned to love is swing dancing. I love, love, love going to my church (Judson Baptist) and spending time with my church family as well.

Well, I guess that's all I have for now! As far as my pictures, the first one is of course Yours Truly, the second one is my sister and BEST friend, Ashlee, the third one is my mom (the famous "Jewels" that many of the long time TLC girls have heard about!), and the final one is my younger sister, Laura.

This verse has always been such an encouragement and reminder to me that God always knows what's ahead for me and I can just rely on him to lead me:

Cleaning Man

Hello everyone, my name is Tom Gentry, better known as the "Mr Clean." I am married to Joyce Gentry (the love of my life.) We have been married almost 2 years and have 2 sons, 1 daughter and four grandchildren. Oh I almost forgot, I have 2 daughters. I forget about Jennifer who also works for TLC. (ha, ha) I am very proud of my newly acquired family and truly love them especially around the holidays but some ear plugs would be nice.

I was first introduced to Joyce and TLC while working for Terminix. I had been in the pest control business for several years. One day our office received a call concerning an ant problem at the Portland TLC location. The original sales guy did not want to drive from Nashville to Portland so I volunteered. I met with Joyce, explained the problem and eventually made the sale. I did several follow ups and met with Joyce each time. Next thing I knew we were dating, I met her family and we got married. Just think, if it hadn't been for ants we may have never met! Thanks to Glenda Fowler, retired TLC RT, we had a nice groom's cake in the shape of an ant (the Disney one) at our reception.

I joined TLC in Feb '08 after being retired for 5 days. Joyce asked me to help out for a couple weeks to get the cleaning caught up. In March I became a full time employee and with that came the title "The Cleaning Man." It's a very interesting job and I do enjoy working with all the TLC employees and being part of such a great company.

Each day we should strive to be happy and be thankful for all we have accomplished in life. We must keep our priorities in order; God, family and job. Have a great day!

My Tennessee Roots

Hello to all of you TLC'ans! I am Jerri Holland, one of the newer additions to the billing department here at TLC Medical. I started with TLC back in January of this year as a temp, and I am now a permanent member of the TeamTLC staff. And the blessings just keep coming!

I was born and raised in west Tennessee. Ever heard of Ripley, TN? What about Henning, TN? Probably not :-) Well, it takes about 10 minutes to drive straight through both towns put together! Henning is the childhood home of Alex Haley, the author of the acclaimed book "ROOTS," which was also made into a TV mini-series (who could ever forget that). The home that he grew up in is now The Alex Haley Museum. And...Tina Turner also grew up in that neck of the woods, but she chooses to use the much fancier town name of "Nutbush" as the place where she grew up. Ha, she's not fooling us West Tennesseans though. As far as Ripley, well...I went to high school there because frankly, Henning didn't have one. We DID have churches, though. And I thank God and my family for the exposure I had as a child to Sunday school and worship service and singing in the church choir and vacation bible school and revival. Back then, it seemed like torture being dragged to church 24/7...and we couldn't even take cat naps during the sermon. How cruel was that? Now, I truly cherish that torturous upbringing! After graduating from high school in 1990, I went on to college with a full presidential scholarship for academics at Tennessee State University in Nashville. There, I quickly learned how to party in the big city instead of how to actually "go" to my classes and take my studies seriously. Unfortunately folks, what I learned the hard way after two years was how to FLUNK out!

Some years later in 2000 (still not taking life as seriously as most), I moved to Texas with hopes of leaving all of the "junk in the trunk" behind. I did well and was even blessed with the cutest, smartest, funniest little girl I've ever met in my life! However, the lack of close family and God in my life proved to be quite hazardous for my health. So after almost six years of simply living without a purpose, I packed up our bags and instead of moving to Beverly Hills, we moved back home. Tennessee. Where my heart is. Where all of those wonderful values that were instilled in me as a child still resonate. Where my roots are. And the blessings just keep on coming!

Going back to school is high on my agenda these days. At 36 years old, I find myself asking the question, "What does God want me to be now that I've grown up?" Well, I am waiting patiently for his revelation because I know in my heart of hearts that he has not finished with me yet. On Sundays, I take the opportunity to go to church and indulge in the gospel. In my leisure, I enjoy spending time with my daughter Amari (Tootie), big sister Stephanie (Steph) and nephew Michael (Mike-Mike). I like to lift a few weights here and there, and I also like playing volleyball, softball and a bit of tennis. These days, it's about keeping it simple. One day at a time.

Being surrounded by strong individuals with strong minds who are strong in their faith is one of those AWESOME blessings that I keep mentioning. Again, I thank God for my family which now includes everyone at TLC . What I try to remember on a daily basis is "that by living fully, recognizing that all we do is by his power, we honor God; He in turn blesses us." PEACE.

Maestro of Medicare (That’s What My Momma Says)

Hello to all reading this! If you did not laugh at my blog title well, you don’t need to read any further… I’m ALISON (with ONE “L”) also referred to as Ali, Vogel, AV, and what ever else is said when I’m not around. I know who you are. Hopefully you will pick up on my love for humor, but do not confuse my ability to GET DOWN TO BUSINESS. In 2004 I graduated from MTSU with a Bachelor in University Studies and a focus in Nursing. While going to school I worked the night shift at Baptist Hospital from 7p-7a. I truly learned a lot about myself and more about life in such a short period than I ever imagined. There I came to understand the importance of giving spiritual support and having a compassionate bed side manner. I have been with TLC Medical for 3 ½ years now. Some of you have only known me to work at the Corporate office, but I actually started as a Customer Service Rep. in the Franklin office. I worked side by side with Casey, Dana, Emilee, Hayley, and Nancy in the trenches, as I call it. Yes, you have to be tough to be a Customer Service Representative. A year and a half later I was chosen to head up formulating and implementing the now Insurance Verification/ Pre-certification Department which is focused on “patiently” working with insurance companies to obtain patient specific benefits and authorizations on equipment. Jenny now heads up this department and is doing great!! For the past 4 ½ months now I have moved to the billing side of side of the company, working as the Medicare Billing Specialist and have been recently promoted as the Billing Department Manager. I feel TRULY BLESSED to come daily to this home away from home as I call TLC Medical. If you have not already noticed, we are all surrounded by truly compassionate people who strive to live and speak the word of God while serving the needs of our patients. Hard TEAM work and willingness to go the extra mile is what I strive for on a day to day basis and if you work with me you know that to be true. I could be here all day, but I’ll move on to a few personal notes. Here is a picture of my older brother, Ross (29) , on the left and myself on the right hanging out in Scottsdale, AZ. He is also a MTSU alumni and has been living in Phoenix, AZ for 2 years now where he secured a small engine pilot’s license and is working in the airplane hangers of Mesa Airlines learning the ropes of the business (not flying em’ though).

These are my boys! :) Rufus is the Siamese on the left and Truce is the Tabby below. I recommend adoption if anyone wants to get a pet. Rufus was 13 months old and very sick when I adopted him and now is a fat & spoiled 4yr old. Truce is the brave & daring baby one who loves to fetch, yes fetch! He is also my 4:30a.m. alarm clock! I wouldn't trade them for any thing!!

Besides hanging out with these guys, I also love to watch and play any sport. I take that back. I do not have the attention span to watch Golf, but I don't mind getting out on the green and playing a round, or try to. Last weekend I cheered on the Titans at their first preseason game where we BEAT the Rams and loved every minute of it! I'm not one of those crazy face painting, flaming red hair, giant foam finger wearing fans, but I'll sport the "Young" Titans Jersey and yell at good AND bad calls! I also try to squeeze in a Sounds game here and there and oh yes, who is NOT watching the Olympics!!! GO USA!!!!!!!

Hey everyone my name is Kyle Thompson and I'm a delivery tech. I'm actually on vacation right now celebrating my 2 years here at TLC. Well, and Madden 2009 just came out this morning. I probably needed a break from that game for a couple minutes anyway. I have 2 kids, I mean brothers, Derick, 25 and Brent, 22. Recently, I have gotten back together with my high school sweetheart. We took some time off while I was a little lost in this world.

I Enjoy working at TLC and love working with everyone here. It definitely beats my past jobs (i.e. Kroger, Maggie Moos, Food Lion). I think i got pretty lucky getting this job. Well, that's all I got. Sorry i'm not much of a Blogger. And Richard if you are reading this BCBS. Thanks.

Good Morning my fellow TLC bloggers & Happy Monday!

My name is Kim Langford & I'm the CSR in Chattanooga. I'm a transplant from Memphis, I have lived in Chattanooga for 4yrs. now & absolutely love it! I have worked for TLC for 9 months now & might I say we have come along way here in Chattanooga & are excited about moving forward & being the best DME company in Chattanooga(no pressure Albert! lol) So, I'll give a brief run down of the home life...I have 2 daughters:Candace(16) Whitley(9) and 1 son Cannon(4) I also have a nephew Kyle(19) that attends The Art Institute in Nashville. So, I stay pretty busy with the kiddos & I'm very excited that schools starts tomorrow(YAY! for lower grocery bills!) In my spare time I enjoy riding motorcycles & the beach(which I just returned from yesterday :) Well, that's about all I can think of for now.....so until next time :)

Hello…Nancy Dutton here!

I am a CSR at the Franklin branch in the Williamson Medical Center. I am into my 4th year at TLC Medical! I absolutely LOVE working with all the patients that call or come through here. Nothing is more rewarding than assisting the people that truly need your help.

I’m originally a Chicago girl who took a job promotion relocating me to Orange County, California. I was the Regional Manager for a national distribution company. While there, I unknowingly hired my best friend and soul mate for life, Randy.

Several years later, another job transfer moved us here to Tennessee. We have lived in Franklin for more than 13 years now. We have a wonderful son, Steven. He is 27, a bartender, and an accomplished artist living in Nashville. He has had more than a dozen art shows featured in Nashville, Chicago, and Dallas.

Randy and I share a 30 year history together. We love to travel and usually ‘get away’ a couple of times per year to somewhere tropical. In fact, this week we’re heading off to the Florida Keys for a lot of aqua blue water, sun, palm trees, and relaxation! YIPPEE!!

One of my passions is graphic arts and design, which was a position I held for a group of Nashville Radio stations for three years prior to coming to TLC. In my spare time, I love to read stories and books about Angels.

I’m Jennifer Murray and I have been in the DME business for 10 years with the last 2 of them being spent here at TLC. I am currently working on getting all the MED patients billing in Brightree. It has certainly been a challenge but I feel like I’ve learned so much.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my awesome family (that’s my kiddos in the picture.) I met my husband, Dennie, during my senior year of high school at a grocery store of all places. We married just 4 months after I graduated and we quickly started our family. We live in Franklin, KY with our son, Ty (10) and daughter, Mallory (7). Ty loves playing baseball and his daddy loves coaching so we spend our entire spring and summer traveling around from one baseball park to another. He is an awesome second baseman and is now learning to pitch. We are trying to get him to play football this year but aren’t having much luck with that one. Mallory thinks she has to be involved in everything that is going on but her favorite is cheerleading and gymnastics. She is in her 4th year of All Star Cheerleading and I can see that she has many more to come. At the present time, she is getting ready for school which she absolutely loves. I’m pretty sure it is just to get back to her social life (I have no idea where she gets that from.)

As a family, we enjoy watching TV together, going to the drive in for a movie, swimming and playing golf (I’m learning.) Now I have to find time to start training for that big 5K. I can’t let the cleaning guy (Tom) make me look bad!

TEAM TLC ..... RACE FOR THE CURE

I was asked to send out an email encouraging you all to sign up for RACE FOR THE CURE! J I have participated in the Race for the Cure for a few years at UT in Knoxville and wanted to continue here in Nashville. So, I created a team, TEAM TLC, if anyone is interested in joining!

About the Race for the Cure® The Komen Nashville Race for the Cure raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship, and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.

The event will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2008 @ Downtown Nashville in Riverfront Park.

Why should you get involved? Over 211,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and nearly 40,000 will die this year. Susan G. Komen for the Cure is working to reduce those numbers both locally and globally and to make a difference in the lives of the women, and men, behind the numbers. Until there's a cure, we RACE!

The event is a 5k (about 3.1 miles) and by no means do you have to RUN it. It is completely acceptable to WALK!! I have always walked in the past. The event is in the morning and won’t take up your whole day!

There is a $30 registration fee. However, you receive a T-shirt and Race bib along with access to Race Day Events (live music, local business tents, etc). In Knoxville, there has always been free food and goodies before and after the Race. AND, the $30 is TAX DEDUCTIBLE J

You aren’t required to raise any money however; it would be awesome if you did!!

For those of you that have been spelling my name wrong for the past 2 1/2 years, I ain't mad at cha, but now you know ;) Well, my name is Hayley Thornhill. I am the CSR at the Smyrna office, but will soon be moving to the Nashville office. I have been with TLC Medical for 2 1/2 years. I started at the Franklin office and I moved to the Smyrna office when it opened in July of 2006. I love what I do, I love the people I work with, and I love the people I work for. There is never a boring day around here, that is for sure. I am married to Jason (the Tech) and have been for a little over 2 years. We do not have any kids yet, but I'm working on that (just don't tell Jason, haha). We do have a 3 yr old Rottweiler named Obi [Wan Kenobi]. I grew up in Nolensville, TN, but I now live in Antioch. I graduated from Brentwood High School in 1999, yes, that means I will be attending my 10 year reunion next year, yikes! After high school, I attended Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, where I majored more in socializing than my technical major which was Nursing ;) After messing around for 4 years, I took a "semester" off to get my priorities in order and during that time I met Jason. So needless to say, I did not go back, but I would like to one day. Over the past year or so, my relationship with Christ has grown enormously. It is so amazing how God just forgives and forgets, and how He is constantly chasing after us, no matter how far away we run. If you do not know how awesome Christ is, please ask me, I would love to tell you the amazing things He has done in my life. I have been working with the youth at my church for the past year, which has been amazing. We attended camp this summer, and it was there that I began to feel the calling to ministry. I haven't quite figured it all out just yet, or maybe God hasn't exposed the whole plan to me yet, but I know that He wants me in some sort of Women's and Young women's ministry. It is amazing and scary to feel such a calling, so please pray for me as God begins to reveal His plan to me. I want to leave you with a poem that pretty much sums me up (or any Christian for that matter). If there is anything else you want to know, just ask, I am an open book.

My name is Bill Drake and this Blog thing is the first for me also. I go on the web site at least one time a day to check out TLC. Here is a little info about
me, my wife Susan, and I have been married 32 years. We have two daughters Courtney and Hayley and have four and half grand children.

I joined TLC last November working with a program called DME order, that works with Medicare and workers comp Insurance. In this new program
TLC will be working with some of the largest companies in the U.S. We have the capability to drop ship over 90% of the things they order direct to their customers. (Coming Soon to TLC)

Below is something that I wanted to pass along to each of you called “Don’t give up” it’s had a lot of meaning to me over the years.

Don't give up.....
One day I decided to quit... I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality... I wanted to quit my life.
I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.
'God', I asked, 'Can you give me one good reason not to quit?'
His answer surprised me...'Look around', He said. 'Do you see the fern and the bamboo?'
'Yes', I replied.
'When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them light.
I gave them water. The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.
In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful. And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. He said, 'In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit.
In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I would not quit.' He said. 'Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant...But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall. It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.
I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle. He asked me. 'Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots?' 'I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you.' 'Don't compare yourself to others.'
He said, 'The bamboo had a different purpose than the fern. Yet they both make the forest beautiful.' 'Your time will come', God said to me. 'You will rise high'
'How high should I rise?' I asked.
'How high will the bamboo rise?' He asked in return.
'As high as it can?' I questioned.
'Yes.' He said, 'Give me glory by rising as high as you can.'
I left the forest and brought back this story. I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you. Never, Never, Never Give up.
For the Christian Prayer is not an option but an opportunity. Don't tell the Lord how big the problem is; tell the problem how Great the Lord is!

Well I honestly think I have met almost everyone here at TLC, but if I have missed a few, the introduction is for you...

I am Dana ANDREWS, which most fail to remember...up until a couple years ago I "dragged" :)around the last name LANKFORD, which is all too common since there are SO MANY!!! I am Monty and Shalia's daughter, Joey, Nathan, Gavin, and Taylor's sister, "Aunt Dane Dane" to Emily, Briley, Braxton, Barron, Cy, Colby...and Livi B...but most of all, I am Richard's wife!!! I am, therefore, "Mrs. Bean Counter", as it turns out... and I am, quite possibly, the happiest girl in the world!! We do not have any kids yet, which I am starting to feel the pressure about, but we have just LOVED being married, just the TWO of us!!! A lot of people wonder how it is to WORK with your family all the time. Well we all know that since TLC has grown so much, we actually don't see each other as often as we used to... which I miss! I can honestly say that my family is also my best friends and it is SO FUN getting to work with them...especially our handsome accountant!

So how long have I been here? ...Well, if you count all of my "ins and outs" here at TLC, I've quite possibly been around as long as anyone...even Dad :)! I remember in high school when he had just started TLC, I used to be his Saturday morning storefront girl... I showed back up for a few stints during college when I was desperate for a job... but finally decided to stick around two years ago after I got married and REALLY needed a job! I started in billing, have worked a little in marketing, but I like the CSR work best. Currently, I work with all of the CSRs at the different locations, trying to help keep the reports current and learning more about the intake side of TLC. I really enjoy my job, right now, as I love spending time with each and every CSR! :)

In thinking about what I wanted to say here on my blogspot, today, to my co-workers, I found a really cool verse in Proverbs that says, "Do not wear yourself out to get rich...Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like and eagle" (Proverbs 23:3-5). And I think this is so cool to think about here on our WORK blog, because we are tied together by our jobs...by our efforts to make money. Even though we all pretty much like each other here at TLC :), we probably wouldn't spend 40 hours a week together if it weren't for that little incentive, $$$$$, right? And I don't think Solomon was trying to say that is wrong- trying to make money and be successful is responsible, but I love that he describes it as "wearing yourself out" because I think for most of us, it comes right down to that, at some point or another. If you are anything like me, by the time the weekend comes, I too often feel SPENT and just want to sit and stare for a couple days... and I need to remember that those 5 days a week I spend here at TLC, should not be SPENDING me, too!

But secondly, I think it is important to remember WHY we are here, and that God has placed EACH of us where we are, daily, for a much bigger reason that the $$$. If we focus just on the money that will pay our bills, we may miss out on the mission field he has placed directly in our paths. The blessed part of TLC is that we are a service-driven company. Literally NONE of us would have a job if we did not strive to TAKE CARE of people daily. Our techs enter the homes of patients every day and are faced with the OPPORTUNITY to serve someone else...and in turn, be blessed themselves. Our Customer SERVICE Reps take care of our patients, not usually in person, but this is often times where the bond is made, by phone, when that sweet old man just needs someone to take a second from their busy "rat race" to listen, and console. That is truly the BEST part of being a CSR, I can say from experience. The marketers strive to TAKE CARE of our referral sources each day, to make them feel important and needed in their jobs. We ALL are given chances each day, at this JOB, not just to make money, but to make memories, to build others up, to LIVE while we are working... And in the end, we all know too well that the money DOES somehow "sprout wings and fly off" because after just two short weeks most of us are waiting, and needing, that next paycheck, huh? :) Amazing, how scripture is so true, still, hundreds and hundreds of years after Solomon penned those words...

So I hope that encourages you all, today. We're here because God wants us to make a difference, and an added bonus is the money--- and not the other way around! What a wonderful life it is, to serve God and be so blessed!!! I am so thankful to have such fun friends to work with!!!

From my title you should have all guessed that I have never blogged before, well here we go...If you don't recognize me, my name is Debbie Wallace and I head up the CPAP/BIPAP Supply Distribution Program here at TLC. I joined the TLC Team almost 6 years ago and have worked in several different areas of the company.

When I am not here @TLC I share my life with my dashingly handsome husband Gary (hiding behind his shades) and our gentle and sweet 90lb. boxer, Dakota. We reside in Fairview TN which is about 25 miles west of Franklin. When we are not working on our"Gardening Projects" we try and fit a few rounds of golf in here and there. I recently started dabbling around with photography, and have found it to be a great creative outlet. I actually have a few photos that are going up for sale by a friend who thinks they are actually marketable!

I recently received this e-mail from my sister in law and felt like it was something I would like to share with everyone. As a mother of a daughter with Down's Syndrome I was extremely touched by this video. My daughter Emily passed away several years ago and this video just reminded me of how much we do for our children regardless of who they are. Our love is unconditional and there is never a limit on how much we will do to help our children succeed.

This is a true story!

A son asked his father, 'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?'. The
father who, despite having a heart condition, says 'Yes'. They went on to
complete the marathon together. Father and son went on to join other marathons,
the father always saying 'Yes' to his son's request of going through the race
together. One day, the son asked his father, 'Dad, let's join the Ironman
together..' To which, his father said 'Yes' too.
For those who don't know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The race
encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86 kilometer) ocean swim,
followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometer) bike ride, and ending with a 26.2 mile
(42.195 kilometer) marathon along the coast of the Big Island . Father and son
went on to complete the race together.

Hello, Everyone! This is actually Hayley. I am writing this for Jason because he doesn't have email set up yet, and well, he didn't know about this until just now. Since he is out on the road passing out oxygen and beds, I will be a good wife and speak for him, haha.

Well, Jason grew up in Anchorage, Alaska. That is where his mom, dad, sister, brother-in-law, brother, and 2 neices (one of which was just born on Friday) still live today. He left their when he was 18 to move all the way on the opposite end of the country to Florida. He attended Florida Baptist Theological College, where he received a degree in Theology and a minor in music. From there he made a few stops in Alabama, Alaska, and Montana, before he finally landed here in Tennessee. He met me just a day after moving here, and he instantly fell in love (ok, maybe not) but after about 9 months he finally gave into my spell. We were married on April 29, 2006. We bought a house in Antioch, where we have been living for 2 1/2 years. Jason was a Youth Minister straight out of college, but afterwards took a few wrong turns, and now is on the path back to doing what he was made to do. Seriously, you should see him teaching a class full of youth, it is truly amazing. So, if any of you know of anyone looking for a Youth Minister let us know.

For those of you that don't know me and are possibly really confused at this moment, I am Hayley Thornhill, the CSR at the Smyrna office, Jason, obviously, is my husband. Jason just joined the TLC team in March and is a Delivery Tech. He absolutely loves what he does. He loves talking to patients and getting to spend time with them face to face, which is something most of us here do not get to do. He loves working for TLC, and everyone here has always been so good to him. We work for some really great people, ya know?

Also, just a quick prayer request. Jason's dad has prostate cancer. He had surgery yesterday to remove it, but they think that he may still have to have radiation. They are waiting on the test results today to know for sure. Please keep him and his family in your prayers. It is eating Jason up to not be able to be with his family during this time. I will keep you updated on his progress.

CHAPS what???

Hello everyone, this is Joyce, the person who for the past year has been harassing everyone about this thing called CHAPS. And today I can tell you we are definitely CHAPS accredited.
Last Thursday we officially received our confirmation of the survey results.
Thanks to all TLC Medical employees, because it took every one's hard work and cooperation to accomplish this for OUR company. And I know it didn't hurt that I prayed a lot for God's help during this process. I am so thankful he gave me the guidance I so needed.

Now, for those who don't know me except for the CHAPS thing:
I started to work for TLC in May 2004, as a manager and RT when they started their second office in Portland. I was then single with 3 children, Justin, Jennifer and Jessica. In Nov. of 2006 I married a wonderful man, Tom and acquired another son, Josh, (all kids are grown)
We have 3 granddaughters, Mallory, Charley, Georgia and one grandson, Ty.

Jennifer and Tom are now employees of TLC (just so you know before you say anything bad about me in front of them, Tom would probably take up for me but for Jennifer, she would just agree).

Thanks again to everyone for all your help in getting TLC Medical CHAPS accredited, we have 3 years before we have to go thru this again.

Well, as Nathan and I are unable to communicate through email (thanks Tommy Ptak, it truly is a blessing to not recieve his emails) I am unsure of my scheduled day to post...so I hope I have not stepped on anyone's blogtoes...

Most of you probably know me, and at some point in time have received a check from me (no need for applause)...I have been working here at TLC Medical for 3 1/2 years and consider myself very blessed to be a part of a company and family that truly does strive to put Christ first in all that is done.

I fell upon the most amazing blessing in my life five years ago in a French class in Charleston, SC. My now wife Dana, was then a funny, brassy, and encouragingly strong woman who has shown me nothing but truth, love, and friendship in our very short time together. (Also, the only reason I got an "A" in the class to show her just how smart I was.) When we first met I was an atheist and leading a life that left much to be desired. Dana and her family have embraced me from day one with the intent of first, leading me to faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ, and second to help build me into the man He truly wants me to be. My own family is now slowly beginning to turn their lives away from dependence on themselves and realize the need for a God who loves, knows, and can mend all of lifes issues. I know I am very lucky to be able to say that I truly enjoy my work and who I spend the majority of my time with.

I will finish up my degree in Accounting on August 9th, and am very glad that for the time being, that my formal education is complete. I love the idea of this blog and think that it will be a great way to get to know everyone around the company and for us all to participate in each other's lives outside of our professional relationships.

My name is Heather and I'm the Portland CSR. I am a born and raised Tennessean, I don't have any masters degree or any degree for that matter but I have been to 3 colleges, not something I'm real proud of. I wondered around for a couple of years and found my way back home and when I did I brought back with me the love of my life. Shane and I will have been married 4 years in August and we have quit the interesting and humorous story but that is for another day. 7 1/2 months ago my miracle came, I have the most beautiful baby girl in the world, Katie and she was a long awaited gift. She is my ray of sunshine that brightens my worst day. In case you couldn't guess, that's my bug in the picture and she is standing on her own, just using dad for balance, good balance, unfortunately, is not something my daughter will come by naturally. I don't know what my life consisted of before my daughter, she keeps me laughing and in constant amazement of how much she grows each day.

Hi everyone! I'm with Jenny and the whole "many of you might not know me" blog. My name is Teresa and I just starting working here at TLC a little over a month ago. I just graduated from UT--GO VOLS! (I can't wait for football season to start!) I absolutely loved UT and miss it terribly. But, I'm so happy to be back in Franklin with my family. I graduated with a degree in Marketing and International Business, yipee! Oh, and you can add me to the list of TLC employees who have graduated from Page High :)

I just recently picked up running, well...jogging. But regardless, if anyone is interested in doing any team activities--I will be doing the Race for the Cure (October 4th) and I think it would be a lot of fun to get a TLC team together! It's only 5k and you can walk or run it--and it's for a GREAT cause--the fight against breast cancer. I guess just email me or write a comment on here if you are interested :)

I'm not married and I'm not pregnant so I'm not sure what else to write here ...I love being on the lake, live music, reading and the Food Network Channel!:) I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Knocked up Wife

As you read the title with a gasp, and say what! It's true after almost four years of marraige to the same woman (jessica) my beatiful wife. I finally got one past the goalie, and for those that still don't understand my wife is with child or my wife is just flat out pregnant. Yep, I couldn't believe it either. We are 27 not 16 so it's a pretty awesome! On the more serious side of things it's flat out amazing to see and hear a little person in side you. Well not you, but your wife. Because as a man if it were in you that really would be amazing! and just weird! Back to serious talk. We just found out monday that the baby is most likely a girl. which is awesome, but honestly we were hoping for a boy. Maybe next time the goalie is asleep it will be a boy. I know with a little girl I'm in big big big trouble. Jumping years, as a man I can't imagine watching my little girl going on a date thats just weird( one reason we wanted a boy) and wondering if and hoping that the boy she is with has her best intentions in mind. The bottum line is we must have faith and trust in God that he will watch over our children and after seeing an ultra sound and hearing a heart beat of a living soul, who are we to doubt in God. How can anyone not see an ultra soud and not believe in God? My wife and I ask ourselves that every time we see or hear the baby.

O yea, you still have no idea who is writing this blog. I go by the name of Albert Curtis I'm the sales guy in Chattanooga. You guys in Nashville may have heard of Chattanooga, you might of even seen we were ranked number two in America behind Washington, DC in cities to live in. Not that it's a big deal cause there's only like 2500 different cities you can live in America. Any way I have been with TLC since Febuary and really enjoy working here. God speed trebla (look closely for those of you saying something that sounds like trouble)

So somehow I got volunteered (thanks Nate) to be the guinea pig for this whole blog thing. Little did he know that I have never blogged in my life. So after thinking for 2 days about what to say, I decided to just tell a little bit about myself since most of you don't know me. The handsome man in the photo is my hubby, Justin White. We just celebrated our 4th anniversary in June. We've been best friends since 6th grade but only started "dating" six years ago. I am incredibly blessed to have literally married my best friend. We don't have any children or pets so we're pretty boring in that regard. We do have 4 nephews that tend to keep us busy enough. As rare as it is , we were both born and raised right here in Franklin, TN. I graduated from Page High School and then went on to get my B.B.A. in Business Management and then my M.B.A. as well. (I know..entirely too much school for one person.) My walk with God is the center focus of my life. I am learning daily how to be a better daughter of the King, wife, and friend. With that, I would like to leave you with the verse that has been playing on mind since I read it Sunday night. Proverbs 16:2-3 says, "All a man's ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the Lord. Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed."

Over the weekend, Hannah and I went to see the Kenny Chesney at LP Field. It was a wonderful show. This was her first concert experience (if you dont count the Cheeta Girls) and she loved it!! We got to the show around 3:30 and got home at 12:30!! It wouldnt have been so late, but i figured i would give her the total feeling with a late night Krystal run on the way home. This was a very special night for me and i look forward to many more!!

The blonde over Hannahs shoulder is none other than April from Pride Mobility!!

We had our CHAPS exit interview on Friday and were told that we would be "RECOMMENDED BEFORE THE CHAPS BOARD FOR FULL ACCREDIADATION." I would like to say a special thanks to two people. Joyce was the reason that we passed. She worked extrememly hard to get TLC Medical to this point. The Accrediadation folks were extrememly pleased with the work she did. Please send Joyce a email thanking her for her hard work for our TEAM. I would also like to send a "thank you" out to Jeff Bohanan! What an awsome job he has done with the Nashville Warehouse. I was told by John, from CHAPS, that he was extremely impressed with our warehouse and that it was one of the main reasons that we passed. Thank you Jeff. You are the man! We are all grateful for your effort! I will be sending out a report to all managers in a few hours of the deficencies that we had. We will need to begin to correct these ASAP. Again, thank you for all that you have done. YOU ARE ALL AWESOME

On the Road to Recovery

Last October I found I had Colon/Rectal Cancer. It was a shock and scared me to death. But during this time your prayers, words of encouragement and support have helped me get through this time. I cannot say thanks enough!!

To give you an update; I have had 7 tests, 2 surgeries, 6 weeks of Chemo/Radaition treatments, and 3 months of heavy Chemo treatments. The good news is that I just finished my last treatment and am now on the road to recovery. I go for a few more tests to make sure I am cancer free. I know that through the grace of God, your prayers, and the stripes Jesus took, that I am healed and will get a good report from the doctors.

It is during the rough times that we need each other, and I know I can count on you. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, ...

My family all got involved in a new book while we were on vacation. Dana has said to have now read it 3 times! As many of you know we have been invaded by CHAPS. This is the organization that will be giving us our accredidation! This means that we need to be on our "A" game. We have to have this accredidation so sweep up the joint and make it look great. I know that we have all worked really hard for this so lets score well. I have just returned from a week of vacation which I thoroughly enjoyed. As I was away, I reflected a lot on our company and the employees that we have. I want to take this opportunity to express to each one of you that I am thankful to have each of you on-board with me here at TLC/Home Comfort.

Our company has experienced a tremendous amount of change over the last 12 months. We have doubled in size and the industry won't stay still long enough for us to settle into a groove. The more I see and learn about where this industry is headed, the more I believe we are the kind of company positioned to survive. We will survive if we streamline our energies and work towards a common goal. Our goal is to serve our customers and find ways to improve the value we give them by thinking creatively and refusing to give them less than the best. We must take pride in what we do and find ways to do it better than anyone else.

I want to encourage each of you to help us in this endeavor. We need your ideas, creativity, and suggestions. I assure you, we don't have all the answers and heavily rely on you to help us navigate through these times in our industry. Thanks for all you have done and continue to do for this company. Here are a few staffing updates that everyone needs to know!

Today is Mel Irvins last day in the Franklin store. She is going to work with a company in Brentwood. We wish Mel the best of luck and thank you Mel for your hard work for TLC.
Mel is being replaced by Dana Mealer. Please welcome Dana to our staff with a quick email or call.
Glenda's last day with TLC was June 1st. She is going to be spending time traveling and relaxing. We wish her the best of luck.

We created a task force a few months ago to put the heat on MED transition of patients. We realized quick that TLC patients needed some serious attention as well. I want everyone to know that today we hit the $100,000 mark since April 15th of billings. Thank you Jeniffer Murray for your dedication to this process. You are making a difference for those that work with you. We will begin to push for the $200,000 goal today.

I have designed this blog page so that we can all stay in touch every day. Joyce said that we needed a company news letter as we continue to grow. We need a place to keep each other informed about things such as Medicare rule changes and babies! CMN rules and weddings! Chaps updates and Christmas parties. This will be the page that all company info will be posted. i would like every employees to put this page in their "FAVORITES", and check it a few times a week, if not daily.
